The affected outrage from the Labor Left at NSW MLC Luke Foley is hilarious

In case you missed it, the NSW Legislative Council today voted to support same-sex marriage, which is very nice but of course accomplishes absolutely nothing.

So now there’s outrage from ALP members that Foley dared vote against same-sex marriage, even though:

1. He was granted a conscience vote
2. The ALP platform allows a conscience vote on marriage equality and does not endorse marriage equality
3. Penny Wong, who these same Labor lefties love, actually voted AGAINST same-sex marriage, in the ONLY organisation that can actually bring it about, ie, the Commonwealth Parliament. Wong chose to back her party over her beliefs, but that’s okay, because she was a Labor woman and a team player. But Foley, who was given official permission to vote the way he liked, does exactly this and is pilloried.

All that being said, Foley is a homophobe and should be derided as such.

But it’s laughable to think that because he was a Labor Leftist he was automatically in favour. And it’s further proof of my belief that the ALP cannot and will not bring about marriage equality. Divisions like this make it impossible. It’s just too hard.
